Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D. was one of the original NLP students in Santa Cruz from 1974-1977. He then went on to become one of Milton Erickson's successful students. After receiving his doctorate in psychology from Stanford University, he became a licensed psychologist in the San Diego area. An internationally reknowned workshop leader and author, his numerous books include the classic text on Ericksonian hypnotherapy, Therapeutic Trances, The Legacy of Erickson, and The Courage to Love.
